Hi there! My name is Brandy and I am a beautiful sable and white pap as you can see from my pictures. And... I'm not just another pretty face: I belong to the Five Mile club! That means I can walk five miles with my foster mom without giving out. Of course, that didn't happen overnight. I started with just a few blocks, but after increasing my muscle tone and stamina, I moved up to a mile and a half. Now I can go the distance with my "Outward Hound" dog pack of three. Pretty good for a gal of about 7 years! Being completely honest, I have to say that I still prefer a short simple "smell-the-roses" kind of walk.
My foster mom rescued me from a shelter and found I was a little underweight (7 pounds) for my frame. With excellent nutrition and physical training, I am now filled out appropriately for my lovely pap-girlish figure at 9 pounds. I am a "foodie" and very food motivated. Even so, I am not aggressive at the bowl.
My foster mom says that I am adjusting well to her small pack. My progress in good pap manners is going well as I get rewarded for good potty, sit, stay and other basic commands. I used to get a little growly when other dogs came near while I was being held. My foster mom is training me to do better and puts me down immediately with a firm "no." I'm no dummy and I have quickly learned to be more polite. Heck, I even get along with the cat!
My foster mom says that I am affectionate and very bright. Though I sometimes display the characteristic pap stubbornness… I can easily learn commands. I am improving every day in my training and manners. In fact, I learned how to use the “doggie door” simply by watching the other papillons in my foster house. Now when the command “All potty outside” is given, I head out and do my thing.
At night, I like to sit right beside on of my humans and snuggle. I am a real love-bug. When it is time for bed, I snuggle into my little dog bed on the floor and sleep through the night. My foster family is very impressed with how well I get along with people. Strangers pick me up to love me and I make no fuss. When I went with them to visit friends, I jumped up in the husband’s lap and made myself at home!
If you like what you see, please put in an application for me. I do love my foster home, but I want my very own forever home!
